We were invited to the premiere in Los Angeles of “Pelé: Birth Of A Legend”, a film by Seine Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. This is the story behind the legend, a story beyond futbol, a story that depicts how a player brought hope to an entire country and made history, it is the story about Edson “Dico” Arantes do Nascimiento and how he became Pelé.
We were able to chat with two of the producers of this film Ivan Orlic and Patrick Pfupajena who shared that this is a story of hope that looks to inspire the viewer with a beautiful story about the struggle of this legend. This film is something like the behind the scenes of the 1958 World Cup and how a man gives an entire country reasons to celebrate during a time when more than hope was needed.
This iconic figure better known as Pelé began his career as a professional player at the age of 15 and by the age of 17 he gave Brazil it’s 1st World Cup in 1958, he later became the only player to win three FIFA World Cups 1958, 1962, and 1970, he has been declared National Treasure by Brazil President, Janio Quadros, and his legacy continues.
We definitely felt inspired and touched by the story, we felt involved and traveled to that moment in time when young Pelé struggled with the decision to follow his dreams, passion, and essence or leave everything behind. Luckily for history he decided to follow his dreams and listened to his call, the call of a legend.
